What is the Traspaso or Escritura?
This is the title change of property. The document that states you own real estate in Costa Rica.
How is the title transferred?
The process is not automatic. You’ll use a local lawyer, who’ll be acting as a public notary. He’ll do an analysis and draft the document.
Then, you must take it to Public Registry or Registro Publico to be registered, stamped, and approved.
